What I meant is that ‘Keep aspect ratio (recommended)’ should be the default, and if not the ‘(recommended)’ should be removed.

The function doesn’t work well, it’s very random. It doesn’t consider a list of files with numerically ordered as always similar for instance. Try with these filenames if you are not convinced (tracks of the album The Dark Side of The Moon, Pink Floyd):
01-speak_to_me.flac
02-breathe.flac
03-on_the_run.flac
04-time.flac
05-the_great_gig_in_the_sky.flac
06-money.flac
07-us_and_them.flac
08-any_colour_you_like.flac
09-brain_damage.flac
10-eclipse.flac
Each track is opened independentely, except for track 3 and track 8 which are detected by Potplayer as similar, how consistent!

I didn’t talk about right-click–Detect durations in the playlist, but about the playlist setting ‘Auto detect file durations’, please read carefully.

The only 2 big things that are missing for being used as default audio player are:
— gapless AUDIO playback (I can’t understand why there is gapless video but not audio.);
— display of tags (The main window displays the filename instead.)
