OK, Prior to V8.8.17, this program was ABSOLUTE TRASH!! To the level of felony FRAUD! It actually "sort of" works in 8.8.17. By that I mean it doesn't crash anymore. What it does well is DV capture, edit and re-render back to DV AVI format. DO NOT TRY TO MAKE DISK, MPEG OR DVD WITH THIS PROGRAM! This has to be about the worst Mpeg2 encoder in the world! That's why you want to make an AVI file using the DV encoder.
Then you must take the DV AVI file into a good encoder, such as Tmpgenc or Mainconcept (both kind of expensive) and convert to MPEG. If doing a DVD, try using Ifoedit to author the DVD fileset and Nero to burn. You may be able to get PS8 to author the DVD fileset from the MPEG file just made. I haven't tried that yet.
Wish I hadn't bought this. At least the editting is good though. |
