  1. I just recently bought a stack of 25 of these and they have been working very well for me. No coasters so far. Has anyone been using these disks for a prolonged period of time (please specify how long), and have you run into any problems with them? My other option is the Ritek G03's which I have heard good things about, but how long the disk is going to last is really the most important issue for me here. I have a Pioneer A05 burner, and so far the princo's have all been playing on my standalone Toshiba SD2800.

  2. I just ordered some True 2X DVDr's do they really burn at 2X with the pioneer 105, I would think they would be made more durable then princo's 1X DVDr's, they should last a long time, GO3's only burn at 1X with the Pioneer 105.

  3. Where did you ordered them? One of my frend gave me 10 Pack PRINCO 2X DVD-R 4.7GB and they works perfect but DVD Decrypter detect them - TDK ?, and now I like to ordered more, but where?

I have been using the Princo for a couple of months with great success. Never made a coaster and they play fine on the 4 players I have access too. The only players that have any problems are 2 notebook computers. One is an old drive but the other is brand new. Neither notebook drive plays the Princo very well but they are also marginal on TDK and Apple DVD-Rs too. I think it is heat related on the notebooks.

  6. I've been burning at 2x without any problem using nero. I just want to know if anyone out there has been using them for a while (a year or so) who could tell me how they perform after time.

I doubt that anyone has been burning for more than a couple of months with the Princo 2x because I believe the have only be around for a few months. I may be wrong. The ones with the TDK ID forged will burn at 2x in the A05 but too my knowledge they are the only Prinocs that will.

  9. I guess I'm the only one who had very poor success with this media. On my Pioneer 105 I get 100% coasters at 2x burn. At 1x, freezing at end of movie. Only workaround for me was setting output size to 4gig to keep from burning to the edge of the disc. I've had excellent results with Ritek 4x media burning at 4x all the way to the edge. Have firmware 1.21 on my drive.

  10. I have some white label princos that burned at 2x on my 103 and dvr-104.
Those are about 6- 9 months old. Out of that bunch I have about a 50% failure rate, pixelation- movie stops playing, etc. I checked each disc when originally burned by screening at 3x with pioneer 440 player and most were fine- no errors detected. Let me say that some of the originals did have errors and they were discarded and rerecorded until no errors. Out of a 25 pack I would average 2-5 bad discs out of the box. The others appeared fine until more than 6 months later they fail. By the way they have been stored in dvd cases since being burned and kept between 60-70 deg f with low humidity. No scratches or fingerprints on them either. Also I can say that tdk, apple, verbatim etc have always worked fine!

My advice is do not use princos. I used to say princos burn at 2x and work fine but I have learned my lesson trying to save time and money.
Do as you wish and if you use princos I hope they last for you.

  11. Any other people use these how are they after a few months or years will they rot and be unplayble, I just bought a 50 pack and they work very good, they play on my X-box, I dont want to use then if they are not going to work in a few months, anybody have experince using these.

  12. I'm not sure how long they will last but I did experience the same issue a few of the contributors in this thread have. I think they burn fine at 2X and generally works ok as long as you do not fill the disc up to the 4.3 GB. In other words, for most of my movies when I run IC7 on it, I would not use these Princo media because 3 out of 4 of my discs would not play them until the end. They would freeze.

See my other thread on the details:

  13. I have used 1X princo's for about 9 months and more recently 2X princos and have never had trouble. 1 bad burn but I think it was because I did not give my pioneer burner a rest!
