I use this to capture unencrypted digital video from the firewire output on my cable box and save it to my hard drive.
You can set a start and end time much like a VCR, but the control is very basic and it will only record the station you have tuned on your cable box.
It's interesting that even the analog cable channels come out of the firewire port in digital format. |
