Sorry for my poor english.
I have a long experience with video capture and conversion. I have tryed for hard Premier, ProCoder and Studio 9 (CEE, TMPGEnc+, MC etc.). The most suitable for beginners and "middle-range" users is, in my opinion, Studio 9, because of easy to use / functionality raport. Especially for begginers, it's deffinitely a VERY good tool available for NLE. Time saving and intuitive GUI, easy to learn. The rendering machine results seems to be much like those obtained with MainConcept mpeg2 encoder, that means very good, if the source DV is good too. For me Studio 9.4.2 works great, no crashes, no synch problems, even after 4 hours without dropped frames capture. I own a Pinnacle DV/AV card, perhaps with its genuine cards Pinnacle Studio is realy working fine. Old 240 min VHS ordinary tapes (16 years old) captured without 1 dropped frame! Error free DVD writing, at least for me. If I'm not working for a national TV studio, I find all the tools needed for movies creation in this program. If the encoding capability is not good enough for you, you can capture and edit the DV AVI with Studio (very good here) and covert the resulted DV AVI with CEE or TMPGEnc and make the menu with DVD author. For all, I give un overall score of 9 for Studio 9.4.2. |
