I don't normally write reviews. Mostly because even useful utilities are only OK, not great. Video Comparer is great. I sprang for the Pro Edition because I needed a way to compare different versions of videos. A very straight forward task, one would think, except that I have a huge collection of files, and most utilities I tried just locked up or took forever to churn through folders. Video Comparer was different. It wasn't perfect when I first started using it a few years ago, but it DID work and work well. I think it has been one of the most useful utilities I've ever owned. The most recent edition, even though it is a fractional version, is a HUGE improvement. It starts quicker, seems really stable, processes much faster, and finds more valid results. Instead of resting on its laurels, Video Comparer has made some really obvious improvements in how well it works, and that makes it much better than when I first bought it. For that, it deserves all the kudos it gets. I highly recommend it. And I WISH there were an audio comparer utility that worked nearly as well! |
