Basic, easy to use, fast (as these things go) and reliable, this is a great option for converting your MKV files to the AVCHD format. It has two major issues that stop it getting 10s across the board.
1. It cannot open and process videos in the .MP4 container format.
2. It cannot handle videos that have been encoded with a width that does not match exactly 1080, 720, 576 or 480. In these cases it should be able to add borders during the encode to fill out the frame. Example - 4:3 material encoded as 960 x 720 will not be encoded correctly by this program.
If you don't need menus on your disc, and your source material meets the resolution requirements, this is a great tool. Highly recommended. |
