Was receiving a "check output folder" no matter which subfolder under C:\Users\username I specified. Resolved by using just the root directory (C:\) instead. Output was sent to C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\.

This tool fixed an error that DVD Shrink kept telling me about not being to find a VTS file even though the file existed. I loaded up the movie files in VOB Blanker and it outputted everything to a new folder and DVD Shrink was then able to load up my movie. I have no idea what this program did to fix the issue, but it worked quickly. (I had spent an hour scouring the web reading different complex ways to fix that DVD Shrink error but this was the easiest sounding and this actually worked).

Just as the other readers on this Forum ,I agree that Vob Blanker is great and does just what it was made to do ,which is blank out unwanted FBI Warnings and studio logos and replaces them with a black screen.. Vob Blanker can even make your picky DVD-r( that was recorded on a Stand-Alone recorder) play in any dvd player(after you make a new copy of your original) IT'S GREAT and IT'S FREE and Best of all IT WORKS!!

Does what it says on the box combined with other free tools provides a way to completely remove extras not just replace with a stillimage.

For episodic DVD's this is the best tool. Dump the garbage, keep the menus. Probably the most underrated tool ever made in the freeware category or any other.

To make a DVD5 backup from a DVD9 this is an essential tool. Once you figure out how to use the tool it really is easy. Used in conjunction with dvdrebuilder you can create great quality dvd5 backups of your commercial dvds. Much recommended!

Used earlier versions. You need to maybe spend 5 mins reading a guide (didnt see any help files) but this is really quite easy to use. End results good, lots of options but you don't NEED to use them. And free, what could be better. Recommended

Great and fairly easy to use tool that is good for removing unwanted material in DVD Video files before recoding with DVDShrink and burning.
Its free,recommended!

If a ripped DVD doesnt fit onto a DVD-5, this is the first program I turn to. I have gotten many DVDs, to fit onto one DVD-5 without any compression just because of the things this program allows you to do. Anything you dont want, gone...motion menus, FBI stuff, credits, etc. I find this to be a very handy tool for freeing up space so that you can compress the DVD less, and therefore, have better quality.

Great little program. Very useful for getting that extra 20-50mb back per title cut, compared to DVDShrink or Nero. A little complicated to use at first, but very powerful when handled correctly.

This new update brings VOBblanker to a mature level. No longer is there any guesswork in which titles to blank, with a fully functional preview. Put simply, this is an essential tool for those who want to retain menus but not those pesky copyright messages.

I was learning IFOedit and then found this. Still interested in learning the ins and outs of the IFO files, but VobBlanker is great at eliminating unwanted Intros from the MENU section, unwanted intros identified in the .IFO files and located in the .VOB files, and blanking cells in the middle of PGC (Program Chains). And it does reduce the size of the .VOB files. Unfortunatley you need to be on your game and try to make all of your changes in one pass because it does take several minutes to rebuild a directory vs. changing the .IFO files with IFOedit (which only takes seconds). But it also makes a great learning tool, if you compare the .IFO files before and after. It did everything I was looking to do!

excellent tool, but a bit confusing to use in the beginning. becomes easier once you start to use it more often.

Review by sctele on Oct 11, 2004 Version: 1.5.0.4 OS: Win2K Ease of use: 8/10 Functionality: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Very good tool!! The perfect companion to the great DVD Shrink.

Just rip with DVD Decrypter, use VOBBlanker to blank unwanted extras etc..., then analyse and encode with DVD shrink. Done!
In VoBBlanker you can even choose to skip the main movie vob for really fast processing time, but make sure you always process the main video_ts 'index' file.

One desired feature maybe: the ability to blank "within a VOB", for instance short video sequences within the menu, etc...

A handy little tool. If you want to back up DVDs with free software and like to keep the menus but exclude special features, this tool is an essential companion to DVD Shrink.

One of Shrink's biggest flaws has always been that it can only shrink unwanted titles down to still pictures, which often still take up a considerable amount of space.

This program replaces unwanted VOBs with blanks, allowing one to shrink a DVD in full disc mode in DVD Shrink, keep the menus, but completely remove all unwanted features. The ability to maximize the amount of space for desired titles is wonderful.
