I wanted to do some tests to prove something to myself and did a CRF 20 then got the bitrate result off it and ran two pass same bitrate. The 2 pass gave crisper image and better facial details. CRF is no better or worse than 1 pass abr and a total con if it is meant to equivalent of 2 pass!

in fact I think I prefer 1 pass abr high bitrate overall using slower settings film preset. Using other h264 gui's got similar results using many pristine sources. The people who praise CRF are deluding themselves. Tx264 nice software still. Thanks.

I like this far better than TenCoder which is made by same talented person. Unfortunately for me TenCoder keeps crashing on 2 pass either Xvid or H264, so I went back to TX264 which works flawlessly. If I ever upgrade wonder if it will work in Win11, as TX is portable? Anyway thanks.

Fantastic program!!!! My personal fav among all i've tried. Would give full marks but i have yet to find an option to encode ALL audio Streams in a single video at one time. it seems to only encode one audio track per video... HUGE problem IMO. Only complaint

This program is easy to use. The options are clear. The conversions are fast and the results are excellent. Thanks to the author for a great program!

Best tool for the job, it helped me batch encode video+audio and remux a set of files.

There's room for improvement though, it had problems with some audio streams:
Codec ID/Info : QDesign Music 2
Codec ID/Info : VoxWare MetaSound

I also miss some expanded functionality, like filter input list by file type. Probably allowing explorer capabilities of sorting, highlighting and removing files can be a good idea. Saving jobs in text format files can come handy too, as well as a checker to whether remux or just keep raw streams.

Despite this it's probably the best GUI encoder out there.

GREAT program,,the best encoded, compliant HD quality movie and completed quickly, around 40 minutes average to encode a 90 minute movie..I would give the program a 10 but is uses Aften to encode to ac3 instead of ea3to.. And I refuse to use the internal aac encoders because in my opinion apples aac audio codec sucks at any bitrate..The aac codec removes alot of the deep base sound that most people like to listen to through their HD recievers...;)~

This is an OUTSTANDING encoding tool! The only downfall to it that I can see, is the ability to pause your encoding during processing. Add that feature to the GUI and it will be top notch

By far the easiest and most comfortable way to convert videos to AVC/h.264. Even commercial products couldn't bear comparison with this nice tool. Thanks to x264 the quality of the encoded videos is decent too. And it keeps improving!

One general question (just out of curiosity): Wouldn't it be sufficient to use the x264 implementation in ffmpeg instead of a separate x264 tool?

Crashed right out of the box! Downloaded it, installed it, loaded video file (VOB) set output per instructions, and it crashed my system. Locked up PC, had to POR and reboot. Went back to Xmedia Recode 3.0.8.1. Rated everything a "1" Not going to spend hours trying to figure out why this software doesn't work. Xmedia Recode 3.0.8.1. works for me every time.
