Easy to setup, configure and use as a home media server. It's compatibility is more than exceptional, it's accepted almost every m3u8 URL I've added, video and audio capture device, and playlists. The only thing I've experienced conflict with is when trans-coding a file on the fly resulting in excessive stuttering, although that maybe has to do more with Xbox 360's limited codecs. One work around I found is to run another dedicated trans-coding program and turn off trans-coding on Mezzmo.

Review by kings241 on Jun 2, 2018 Version: 5.2.0.0 OS: Windows 10 64-bit Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 9/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 9/10

Version 4 now works in conjunction with the new Mezzmo mobile app for Android.

Great improvements in metadata retrieval and some new ways to adjust your library using Smart and Active Playlists together. The library organization and customization features put Plex to shame.

I've found that browsing large libraries is easiest on my Android phones/tablets and then just hitting the Play to gets me going extremly quickly. It's easier to browse the metadata there and includes direct links to IMDB if you need to know more

Mezzmo will let you playback just about any file on just about any device and if it isn't working, they will usually have a device profile created within a day or so after you request it.

People will probably ask why I would pay for something that I can get for free from so many other sources (Plex, UMS, etc.) and all I can say is give the free trial a test run and you'll see it's easily worth the $30.

Review by smitbret on Jun 15, 2014 Version: 4.0.3 OS: Windows 7 64-bit Ease of use: 9/10 Functionality: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Been using Mezzmo for about 3 years. The latest version (3.0.0.1) allows the software to serve up .iso files and subtitles can be sent to most any device via DLNA now. I have tried Tversity, Nero Home, Twonky, PS3 Media Server and nothing is as versatile or controls my media library like Mezzmo does. If you have a large library, the organizational features and playlist creation features are awesome.

People that have a single media streaming box with its own media library and wide codec support may not see much benefit from it. People that have the same device at several locations may also not see much benefit, but where I have a combination of different BR Players, cell phones, Kindle Fires, etc, nothing makes sure I get the right stuff to the right place like Mezzmo does. If you have several different devices in your home and all of them have differing standards then there is simply no better solution than Mezzmo.

Review by smitbret on Feb 14, 2013 Version: v3.0.0.1 OS: Windows 7 Ease of use: 8/10 Functionality: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

I had been using Serviio but decided to try Mezzmo. Functionality is similar to Serviio with a slightly nicer interface. It found my wireless devices quickly and correctly.
I was using it as a wireless connection from PC to TV. It seemed to respond a little slower than Serviio. It crashed once. It played a file and when I tried to replay the file I got a "unsupported format message." It disconnected several times while playing a video and once actually shut itself down.
Has potential but not stable enough for me. Give it a try it may work better on your system. I'll try it again when a new version comes out.

Review by danzeb on Nov 2, 2011 Version: 2.4.5.0 OS: WinXP Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 6/10 Value for money: 4/10 Overall: 5/10

I recently purchased a DNLA capable Sony HDTV and though I could access Netflix and some of the online content, I was looking for something that would allow me to view video files on my computer HD. I tried Playon & Servio and neither would access my HD. I asked around and read some forums and the consensus was that I would need a hardware server like WD Live. Well, I saw Mezzmo on Vidohelp and tried it and low and behold I could watch DVD AND ripped HD content from my computer wirelessly thru my G router. I do have a few problems, but that might just be me needing to learn the software better. Avatar BD had an audio sync problem but looked fantastic with no video lapses or stutter. Others had no problems at all. Even the standard DVD looked like HD quality. Just click "folder" not "file" to play or you get individual video files. Anyway so far so good, and the only thing I tried that actually works. I will be buying it.
