Installed on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 to a W7 "Bottle" in Crossover version 21.2 (a compatibility layer, not a Virtual Machine).
Analysed an Mp4 video file on my Mac desktop ok. Only issue is its window is very small (on Macbook's hi-res "Retina" display) and is not resizeable. As long as it works though...

The only way I've found that can just read off the bitrate -- average and a complete time graph -- of video for AVC MKVs.

There are no menus, but there are actually lots of controls for various options (zooming, etc, so you can locate high bitrate sections precisely), see the progams's homepage http://www.winhoros.de/docs/bitrate-viewer/ -- you get this if you hit "F1".

I checked some MKVs I'd encoded myself with 2 pass so I knew the bitrate, and this gave it off exactly.

Very handy piece of software and FREE!

It's nice to be able to see the bitrate of my encoded media files. It has a pretty GUI, shows min, max and average bitrate, plus you can zoom in. Just click "Load" and browse for your video file. I have analyzed .wmv .avi (XviD) and dvd files so far.

Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Supports not only DVD/MPEG1-2, but also MPEG-4 and others. Easy to use and for free. Very reliable. Recommended!
