Batch Files for Ffmpeg to correct chroma shift etc.

How to use ffmpeg to Encode Video with Chroma Shift Corrected. If you have digitised video from older analogue sources like VHS or Hi-8 you will probably need to correct the inevitable chroma shift. Chroma drops vertically with any delay line processing as always used with PAL and often with NTSC. This gives a messy looking image with colour drooping and bleeding below the correct areas. See Chroma can also move sideways if there are processing errors. This again makes the colour bleed more on one side which makes it look much more blurred. See The GTH Electronics ACE solved that in hardware before video capture but all these effects can now be cured in software using Ffmpeg. To make this easy I have created some batch files which combine both vertical and horizontal chroma shift with encoding to MPEG-2 or MP4 at high quality, along with the audio. All values can be tweaked in the batch files easily. To make it simpler to find the best settings I have also made a batch file to play the video using Ffplay with options to tweak the shift parameters. These are all available with lots of other useful information here: Any questions please just ask me using the email address on this page.
