Great writer for the hundred bucks i spent on it. I got it at Target.

I burned close to 100 DVD-R (Memorex Brand) since I boubght back in November of last year for 119 at CompUSA. Great burner

Excellent writer. Bought in February 05 from CompUSA, good price. I never have to think about it. It just works. Will even write to bad media like CMC Mag as long as you slow down the write speed to 2x or sometimes 4x.

what a dvd writer, so far burned 15 dvd+r no problem , easy to install .I Love it, its super fast, and very very quiet!!!!!

Great drive.Purchased from Compusa this week for $119 after rebates.Flashed to Benq1620 firmware(b7m9).It does everything the 1620 do.I've burned several disc with fuji 8x+ in 7 min.

DVD Write types
CAV = Constant Angular Velocity, the DVD is written at a constantly increasing speed.
CLV = Constant Linear Velocity, the DVD is written at a constant speed.
ZCLV = Zone Constant Linear Velocity, the DVD is divided into zones. After each zone the write speed is increased.
PCAV = Partial Constant Angular Velocity, the DVD is being written at an increasing speed until a certain speed. After this speed it will not increase anymore.

Desktop = Standalone desktop DVD Recorder
EIDE = Computer DVD Writer with EIDE/IDE connection
SCSI = Computer DVD Writer with SCSI connection
USB = Computer desktop DVD Writer with USB 2.0 or/and 1.1 connection
FireWire = Computer desktop DVD Writer with IEEE 1394/FireWire/i.Link connection (some standalone desktop dvd recorder supports this also but then it is usually to connect your DV camera to the recorder)
