| I bought this burner about one week ago.I tried to burn Princo DVD -R 4x and DMG DVD +R 4x and It was successful but When I tried to read these burned DVDs, I met some read failure. After investigated using Isobuster program realized that some sectors (especially around 1820000 sectors) could not to read. I burned about 10 DVDs and on all of them has some problem. | I just bought this burner, I don't like how burn different media's, I have VERBATIM +4x (bulk) and is burning at 2x, I tried VERBATIM -4x (retail) with great results...In my DVR106D all discs has been burner at 100% speed. | Bought this burner abount a month ago. Have not burner one bad DVD. LG makes excellent products have also purchased a CD Burner a couple years back. Same quality and reliability. | i bought one of these drives 4 days ago, in a local shop, for 95€ (+-100$) (it was a oem version) and i've burned about 10 DVD so far... i had no flaws yet. burned on intenso +R 4x and on princo -R 4x, and all burned great. made read and speed tests to all, and no problems found. | Burned Fuji DVD+R 4X at 4X and had great results. Both data and video without a hitch. CD's burned faster than I've ever burned before! (upgraded from a 8X sony CDRW drive). Very happy. | Great drive, as were all of the previous LG GSA/GMA series (had them all except 4081). After using it for almost 2 months I cxant say any bad word about. Tested with all kind of blanks (some - i.e. DataTech - write at 2x only) except for 8x DVD-R which I cannot find at any local store yet. Minor 'problem' (not actually a problem, its just the way it is designed) is Zone CAV CD-R writing speed, instead of real CAV writing speed. Thats the only reason I give it 9 instead of 10. | Can't really rate it yet because I haven't managed to get a DVD to burn. CD-R seems to do ok, but no DVDs yet. I'm running Linux, but my distribution includes dvdrecord and the dvd+rw tools package so I should be ok. But no, error after writing the first block and all I get is a coaster. And no don't ask if I have tried it under Windows. A) I don't HAVE a copy of Windows new enough to put on this machine and B) I bought it as an OEM drive from newegg.com and it didn't include any bundled software and C) if it is some sort of WinWriter it goes back, period. | Burned 15 dvd backup's with Memorex 4x DVD-R and 0 problems at 4x, all of them work flawless even in my friend old Panasonic A100 dvd player. Play well in my XP30 and Sony DVPNS700P.
