| The NEC 4550 seems very interesting for its DVD-RAM capabilities (useful for transferring material recorded on set-top recorders). But there doesn't seem to be a supplier in the US. | I have recently bought the NEC 4550 via ebay in uk. It installed very easily and read differing quality discs without problems. However it does NOT write. The software shows the source drive but not the destination drive. Whether this is a device problem or computer problem I am not sure. Company seller dragging its feet to find cure.Offers? | Just bought it as my 3520 broke down. Be aware that NEC drives seem to have problems to record disks made by Infodisk (eg Dysan CDRWx24)!!! I loose my minds as they all worked with all my previous drives but not with NEC. Except this it is fast, quiet and overall good DVD writer Comments posted by Marek from Poland, October 19, 2005.
