| It takes less than a second for this dvd writer to produce a coaster. Have tried it with TDK & Verbatim DVD-Rs. Reads ok but as soon as you try to burn anything, voila! a coaster in less time than it takes to pour a drink. Am using VRS2 firmware but unable to find updates. | I cannot write to DVD-R (Ritek G05) or DVD+R but CD and DVD+RW both work fine. I seems a lot of people are having the same problem or just very slow (0.7x) burn speeds. | I just got this drive (labelled "Slimtype SOSW-833S") and installed in my Dell Inspiron 8200. It came bundled with Nero DVD burning software. I just copied all of My Documents (8 Gb) to a DVD+R DL with no problem in less than an hour - great! Comments posted by Paul R Watson from United States, October 06, 2005.
