I retested the Ritek unbranded media (RITEKF1 with stamper code DR5F6O-02261) in a different Pioneer burner. Same result, the two Pioneer dvd players would not play the disk correctly. The Sony dvd player still plays them ok. I burned the same image file to a Maxell DVD-R 16x that uses the same RITEKF1 dye (stamper code DR5F6O-01901). The Maxell DVD-R works flawlessly in all tested players. Makes me think Ritek unbranded disks are a dumping ground for B-grade junk. But RITEKF1 is still a good dye. Additional information: Purchased from: www.jetmedia.co.uk Date purchased: April 2010 Burnt with Pioneer DVR-111D / DVR-710 at 6x using firmware 1.19. Burning reliability is Good. PC reliability is Good. DVD reliability is Poor. Media color is Silver . Media text is None. Media package type is Shrink Wrapped. Number of discs 50. Media made in Taiwan.
	Comments posted by Rosenrot from United Kingdom, April 15, 2010: Shiny silver top unbranded DVD-R sold under the Ritek name for use in Rimage Prism thermal printers, etc. These are quite expensive disks and only slightly cheaper than the Taiyo Yuden. However, these had poor DVD player compatibility. The disks burned successfully and passed verification, but the picture breaks up and stops playing in two Pioneer dvd players. By way of comparison the same image file when burned to TYG03 media, plays flawlessly on all players I tested.
