Well I jumped the gun with these disks :(
Why? my older TEAC DV-W516GB (Lite-On SOHW-1673S) with the original firmware J4S2! doesn't recognize the blank disk and just spins :( the media code f16 isn't supported!
maybe cross-flashing to 1693s may fix this? I'll give it a try.
To the previous poster with a LITE-ON 1693S:
Sorry dude I checked the media code support for KS0B and f16 isn't supported! How did U burn an unsupported disk?

But my Samsung TSST SH-222A recognizes it and burns it nicely (nero cd-dvd speed gives me a rank of 96% and the maximum pif was only 3) I bit-set this DVD+R to DVD-ROM and now it plays nicely with on my LITE-ON 1673S. (this DVD-RW doesn't support the f16 Media code)
I'd avoid this media and give a few extra cents for an Verbatim DVD+R mcc004 (the price difference for me was only 2 cents) and is a much better disk

Not pink or blue - definitely yellow (orange-tinted). Read and burnt without problems by Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-85JS F100, Matshita UJ-861, and TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632H fs03 with perfect reading curves. This is a relatively new type of dye, not widely known - many burners simply have no good strategy for it and only offer slower speeds (only being able to burn at the indecent 2,4x can happen), which you should bear in mind if you plan to use an older writer. But fine burns at 4x are better than coasters at 16, aren't they?

Burnt with ImgBurn 2.4.2.0. They seem acceptable so far, the longevity is obviously anyone's guess.
