Buy only media with Logo on the disk!!! Disks without Logo can be less quality.
Statistics: 1 disk is bad in 100 stock for a year.

Horrible, horrible junk. It is rated 4x, but only burns at 2x no matter what. Reading is a huge problem, too. It takes quite a bit of time to read on a good reader, and of the two DVD-ROM readers, none of them can read it perfectly. It'll read part of the disc, then stutter at some point, and never work again, and lowers the reading mode to PIO. Also, it was readable in the drive that burned it. I also burned this media on another drive but *that* drive couldn't even read the disc reliably after burning it!

This media does not work at all in this NEC 1300a, regardless of which software. I put in several Fuji 4x DVD-R's and they burned perfectly, but these BMI discs give nothing but errors.

I ordered one 50 pack and later two 25-pack of the BMI 4x media from tigerdirect.ca (their Item No. B203-1070) at $Can 34.99.
-I burned a dozen flawlessly in a Pioneer A06 burner
- Made 3 coasters in an Optorite DD0203 connected to a USB-Ide interface (Cables To Go - USB 2.0 to IDE/ATAPI Adapter).
- Burned at least ten with no problem with the burner conencted directly to an ide cable.

BMI discs could not be written at any speed using _NEC ND1300A despite being 'approved' in NEC manual that came with OEM version of drive.
Could easily be written at 4x using Pioneer DVR-A06U writer! Go figure!!
At any rate, I wouldn't backup my most valuable stuff on the BMI discs.

These are a terrific value. $60 for a 50x spindle of 4x DVD-R discs. However, be warned, I burned through all 50 of these discs, and discovered that only 24 out of 50 would play in my standalone Panasonic DVD player, while all 50 would play in my Pioneer DVR-105. I contacted BMI and asked them what was up. Then I was informed that these discs are made in Taiwan, and that basically, they have no responsibility for the discs not working in my player. Great deal, just be careful!
