Bought 100 of these at Sam's Club for $14.98 a spindle.
(50 pack a spindle). I had heard good things about
these, but since they were MCC coded, I thought
they might be crap media
( such as MCC coded Sony's and Maxells).
Boy was I wrong!
So far into the second spindle and no Coasters as I write this. Media Verifies through Toast 7.1 on the Mac
fine, Playback in the Mac is wonderful.
This media plays well in my following players:
Maganovox MWR10D ( DVD Recorder, also records well
on it)
RCA 5240P
Batman KidZone DVD Player
NexxTech 7inch Portable DVD Player
The only player that had issues with this media was
my DVD/VCR combo unit, the Sanyo DVW-7200.
It would not load the disc properly giving me a
"No Disc" error the first two times I tried it.
The third time, it took the disc fine and played it.
Definitely would reccommend this media to anyone
looking for a good local substitute to Japan made
Sonys and TDKs, or even Taiwan made TDKs.

When played in Apex or CyberHome players, the video exhibits occasional brief freeze or jump. Lowering the burn speed did not solve the problem. However, it played flawlessly in a Panasonic DVD player.

Never had a coaster but the reliabillity of some discs is questionable. User CD Speed, I can see that the transfer rate degrades, some worse than others. Burning at 4x produces horrible results.

I have used other types of media, but will always come back to this one, as it is the most reliable of all that I have used. Will burn at 12x speed without any problems. The only coaster I've had is when my computer decided to crash during a burn.

Since I've been burning DVD-R, it's the only that doesn't give me problems recording or playing DVD, even in my PC. The only problem has been when i try to play it in a PS2 without a chip, having trouble reading it (PS2 game or DVD video); with a PS2 mod I don't have any problem. So, when I burn PS2 games I prefer using LG, Princo media instead of Verbatim, without problems.

I use all different types of media usually with no problems at all. I got this media because it was on sale and it is highly praised in the burning world. I have had more trouble with this media than any other media I've ever tried. I would say about 20% of this 50 pack spindle were coasters because of media writing errors. The ones that did burn ok worked flawlessly so maybe this batch was defective.

It is surprising that this media works with my old 2X Pioneer DVR-103 Superdrive, whereas attemps with my 4X Pioneer DVR-A06 writer failed. The 2X superdrive was never designed for 8X media, yet the PIPO scan looks even better than that of the 2X Verbatim DVD-R[MCC00RG200]!

This is the inkjet printable media.
Ran a few trials with the media, ran both 4X and 8X with no problems. (I Know that long term life may be affected at 8X) Pricey media but it's hard to find good printable faced media for inkjet.Print quality ok, I use an epson R300.

Labeled as having 8x max burning speed but pioneer has certified it as going up to 12x on its A08-108 burners. Although I've burned movies at 12x with no problems, I've had trouble when playing those movies back on my laptop. There is frequent skipping and pauses making some movies unwatchable.
When burned at speeds above 8x there are highly noticble rings of discoloration(burn patterns) on the dye. At 8x there is only a very faint discoloration. At 6x and below no discoloration appears. I burned those same movies at 8x and 6x speeds and the skipping and pausing issues disappered.
I highly suggest only burning this media at 8x or below for the greatest compatablity and the best playback. I've already gone through the entire 50 pack with most movies burned at 6x. I've let friends and family members borrow the movies and no one has had any problems with playback. So far so good. Hopefully the DataLifePlus label will actually mean that the media will last a long time and isn't just a marketing gimick.

Some troubles.
DVD Decripter can't burn in iso mode with the SPTI Interface set. Work with the ASPI Interface set, but only at 4x speed. Nero burn at 8x speed.
When I tested some burned dvd-video on my Panasonic RV-31, they don't work very well; I noticed an high jittering and many read error.

I used Alcohol 120% and burned dozens of xbox/ps2 games and dvd movies. No coasters, no problem encountered. Works like a charm everytime. It did not work with Gamecube =(
Very good media and highly recommended. Good for everything except gamecube.

Excellent media!!!..Deep purple dyes are used..I've gone thru 40 of a 50-spindle and not one yielded a coaster...Media read 8x on my Maddog 8x-burner [NEC 2500a] w/ NERO 6...The only other truly reliable media, for me, has been Ritek (-R) 4x and 8x [G04 and G05] blanks from MERITLINE.com...I burn at least 150 Riteks a month...Verbatims are now a definite alternative...Really good media that can be purchased locally at Best Buy.

Sam's Club FINALLY started supplying DVD-R media, and by Verbatim. 8X speed rated. Have burned over 10 at 4X on my Pioneer A05 with 100% success! The best part, is the pancake only costs $65.00, making each disc $0.65 each. I plan to get a couple more pancakes as back stock. I don't know if I'll change over to the Plextor 8X DVD Burner Sam's offers, am perfectly happy with my Pioneer. Highly recommend this media.

Purchased for $34 for 50 discs at NewEgg. Burn no problem at 12x on my Pioneer DVR-108. Plays properly on all listed player. Plays ok on an Avia DVD-610 player, just can't fast forward or reverse at anything over 2x. Will not play at all on a portable Audiovox D1700. Not too much of a problem witht hat though because it has problems playing some pressed media.
