Comments posted by pc from United States, June 10, 2006:
I purchased a spindle of these from TheTechGeek last year on sale (200 for $28, or 14 cents ea). That was and still is an amazing price _if_ the media works.
These discs burn ok up to 3.8 GB. Beyond that size the errors skyrocket. Over the past year I've been using them for data/movies that don't fill up an entire disc. As you can imagine, it's taken forever to go through them.
The manufacturing consistency of these types of discs seems unpredictable. You might get lucky and get a good batch, or you might be stuck with discs that can only fill up to 3.8GB.
