I burned several DVDS (video, data, mp3) at 8X after speedhacking the firmware. All tests (Nero, cdcheck) reported no errors, no problems with my pc in teac dv-w58ga and JMLS XJ-HD163, no problems in three DVD-Players (I do not know the names). As far as I can say ther is no loss in quality compared to 4x burning.

Aldi branded specials, burn well on Aldi branded "Medion" Multi-format DVD burner (Re-badged Pioneer 106D) at both 2.4X and 4X. Plays perfectly on Limit DVD 9900SE and Kenwood DVR-7000 if DVD Shrink software is used to author the movie. Great value, at £6.99 per box of 5 disks in compact jewel cases.
