This media works fine until I put like 98% or 99% of video in it. Close to the end of the video, some data is lost and neither pc nor dvd player can read it. If you like to use the media as much as you can, try other brand and don't waste your time and money with it.

I picked up 5 spindles of these disks dirt cheap around christmas at staples.
Then i started reading posts on Afterdawn talking about using good media, so i bought some TY. However, I still had a ton of these Teons.
I have now burned 40 dvds with shrink and decrypter and i have not made a single coaster.
So, even if these suckers are generic, I have had no problems.
Oh yeah, even though the dvds are rated at 8X, I still only burn them at 4X.

I've had an ongoing problem with the Panasonic RP62 for some time now. It is very, very picky about what media it wants to play. These Teons played perfectly in my low end Koss HT system & every computer I put them in. The RP62 gets about 1/3 through any movie burned on these discs & I get nothing but severe pixelation & lock-ups. I've tried 3 or 4 different copy programs & always the same result. Riteks are better with the RP62, but still not perfect. I really don't think these Teons are that bad-try them when you can get them on sale, as long as you don't own a Panasonic RP62.

No Problems playing on PC (Cyberlink PowerDVD) and on Sony PS2.
But sometimes, it does not work on Cyberhome Ch-DVD 300. When I load the DVD (backup/burned) it only display "Loading", so i eject the DVD and load it again or sometimes rotate how i place the DVD on the tray... it would run.
But I tried the Teon DVD+R, this is much better.

Burns at 12x on Pioneer 108 burner original firmware 1.04 with no problems. Burns at 4x on Pioneer 106 burner with no problems. Playback on 6 different settop DVD players have no pixellation. Read on fatwallet forums that Teon CMC may be grade B media (longevity question??) but don't know if this is substantiated

this is my third post and for those of you who have problems with this media reading in your picky home dvd players try out the exact same teon brand in a + media format and use a program like img tool burn with a demo version of nero or some other prgram that will allow you to set your dvd burner booksetting from a + disc format to a dvd-rom format. this better way to assure higher compatability to older dvd players. If you dont have these programs there are other freeware programs that will allow you to change your drive bitsetting to a + format. check out the teon + discs on this website also their media code is CMC MAG.E01. Good luck!

EXACTLY what the person below my comments said -- these are CMC MAG's.. the same discs as Khypermedia, Memorex, TDK etc etc.. They burn FINE, play FINE and have absolutely NO PROBLEMS... Be sure to update the firmware on your burner and you'll be fine.
It's not fair to quickly blame a manufacturer when you haven't done your homework. Read the web, update your firmware and BURN...
Case & Point -- they work flawlessly on a PIONEER 525 -- seems the previous poster wasted his discs on burning them with old firmware.

The other comments on this site probably are because some of these other burners need firmware tweaks. I know because i have had my share of these problems..
you will either love these discs or hate them, but if you do have burning problems i am sure these are not the only discs giving you problems. search out a firmware upgrade or tweak. these discs are inexpensive, dependable and will burn 4.5G of data in just over seven minutes... great

Label said TEON DVD-R 8X. I bought a 40 spindle pack at Staples on Black Friday for $2.94 after rebate. My NEC ND-2500A using firmware 1.07 and Nero 5.5 and Nero Express 6.0 would only burn at 4X. :-( Not a bad deal for $2.94, though.
