Wished I had seen reviews on this disc before I purchased. I originally had thought that I had one bad disc, but after continuing burning coasters, it turned out to be the brand. I also tried Memorex and they turned out so much better than these discs (probably only had 1 bad one out of 25). Ridata's -R discs are much more reliable than these (IMHO). Stay away from this one if you can!!

I have had very few problems with this media. My Pioneer TiVo will play most of them but will not play all. My Pioneer DV-563A standalone DVD player will play them all.
All of them burned successully. However, one of them I had to re-rip and burn on a new disc since the disk had errors that caused skipping and drop outs.

I bought two 25 disc spinles from two different online retailers. These discs are terrible. I tried burning them with three different burners (LG 4167B, Pioneer 111, Sony DRU720) with the same results. 21 failed during the burn process on the second layer, write error. 8 failed during the verify routine, the data could not be read. 13 had small dark blotches on the bottom of the disc after burn which caused the video to skip when trying to play in a dvd player. the rest worked fine. 8 out of 50 worked fine. These aren't worth the time or money. Believe me, I read the other reviews and thought I'd give them a try. MISTAKE.

Burned fine, but verification showed an error at switch between layers. Video hung up at that point when played on Pioneer DVR-110D (mac dvd player). Video played on a Pioneer DVR-109 (mac) and Sony DVP NS300.
My only prior experience with DL DVRs is with Verbatim. 100% burn and play reliability. Pay extra but get better result.

Good media when it works. Very, VERY bad quality control. 30% are flawless, 40% are so-so (occasional glitch), 20% have bad problems on the second layer preventing proper playback on standalone players, and 10% have major problems on both layers or fail to burn. Probably 6 coasters out of 35 discs burned. I have to return 10 unused discs from my latest shipment due to visible physical damage to the media (metal chips in the dye).
Good if you are cheap or don't mind sorting through media to find the good ones, but for me and my time, I won't be buying them again. $1 more for verbatims is worth my time NOT having to do a full surface check on every burned disc I make.

used with lite on sohw 1673s flashed to latest to burn at 4x. first had problems and got 5 coasters, but now i plugged the burner and hard drive to the same ide cable to the motherboard straight, and got >5 good burns in a row. nero 6.6.0.8 does not play in conventional dvd-rom though, second layer is tough.

the movie played good on the norecent with a better quality than the koss, the koss switched between menus faster than the norecent did

Heres some info.. a word to the wise. I have burned a few DL discs (copies of discs I own) both Ridata and Verbatum and if I apply labels to either DL discs they fail either at the start or midpoint on any player I have tried. Labels dont affect single layer media (probably because they weigh less) but do cause reading problems with double layer media.So if you are burning one shot DL disc dont apply labels they will stop the players from working and are a pain to get offer later.

I get the error -50 "Can not communicate with media" using The RiData DL disc with the Lacie DL drive (NEC 2510A) Firmware 2.06 (Lacie (Mac) firmware with bitsetting permanatly set as DVD-ROM. The drive works perfectly with Verbatim.

You need the latest version of Nero to burn this disc, if you have an older version of Nero 6 it only recognises the Dual layer DVD as a CDR. Only burned 1 so far but it worked a treat (no errors).
Plays ok on Toshiba SD2109 when burned with DVD Shrink 3.2 & the correct Burn Settings are used, eg
tick the box for Book Type DVD-Rom. & also tick the box for Burn at least 30mm (DVD+R/RW High Compatibility Mode)
