Burns just fine at x1, never at x2. Using official firmware v108. Bought 40 of these discs.
All work, no bad burns or read-fails in any of my dvd-rom drives (Toshiba, ASUS + 2 diff. Sony), and my Lasonic and UNITED DVD Players.
At least 30 discs has been rewritten more than twice (Death to the Only One Burn statements :)

Linux: When burning with cdrecord, the whole system freezes! Media is then only good for trash.
The results were the same on two completely different PCs.

Whoa baby! STAY AWAY FROM THIS MEDIA! I purchased 3000 of these from a vendor who claimed that these are the same ones sold in/for CompUSA. I have used roughly 800 and about 25-30% have read verify errors on the first pass. I am duplicating them in two towers with Pioneer A05 & A06 drives identically configured. The discs are for DVD playback, have different media content on them, and are being played on numerous DVD players and computer DVD-ROM drives. The DVD-RW's are used to send classroom content to distance education students enrolled at a university where I work.
When the discs are returned to be FULL erased and re-burned, they produced even more errors. The video gets worse and worse - corrupt and tiling. I have performed various matrix tests write/rewrite at 1x/2x with QUICK and FULL erase. QUICK erase can damage the disc so that it won't allow you to rewrite indefinitely.
Some discs will not burn at all on the first pass. The strange thing is that using the same PRESCAN function (read verify) on Princo DVD-R 1x discs yields no failures or errors. There is a definite problem with Princo DVD-RW 2x media!

I purchased a pack of 10 dvd-rw 2x (princo) form nierle.de, and must admit, that I am very disappointed. About half of the discs cannot be burnt at all, and among the rest only 2 worked properly (Even when I tried burning them single speed, they produced errors on read).
