I have burned over 100 discs. Some of them at 8x without any problems, most at 4x. Less than 6 had problems (they couldn't be read at some points) and were useless. Very good media. Unfortunately Philips DVD+R 8x are made by CMC and are pure garbage.

Burned & verified at 8x speed using Nero on a Plextor 708a. (Burn starts at 5.9x, ends at 7.8x.)
Nota bene: media with the same media code is also available under the Traxdata brand name, but this did not burn at 8x speed on my Plextor, only at 4x speed, even though Nero reported the media to be 8x compliant.
