Used: Roxio 5.x, dvdrecord, growisofs

I own two DD1205's (one in an IDE/USB enclosure) . The first worked perfectly (or I wouldn't have purchased the second).

I bought a 2 of the 25x pancakes, and have made at least 30 coasters, and have perhaps 15 left. I've have tried to use this media+burner pair on multiple machines, multiple OS (RH9, FC3, WXP) and different burn speeds (2,4,8)

But with this OptoDisc 8x DVD+R media, I have been getting **more than 90% coasters.** Reported error is (something like): Servo tracking error.

PS: I rated this burner/media combo burning "poor" only because there wasn't a lower option.

Seem to work pretty good when using Herrie's hacked bitsetting firmware for the NEC _2500A. With the DVD ROM book type set, would only load in 1 of 6 of my DVD Players. With the DVD ROM book type, they all played back 100%.
No errors on full 4.37GB test discs.

The surface is white inkjet with a 40mm center. It does require a little more ink than higher priced brands, but the image quality is still great.

Isn't seen as 8x in my NEC, but is most likely a firmware problem (unknown media). But 4x burns are perfect.

Considering the quality of Ricoh media with my NEC, this is a great by for me and my NEC 2500
