My disc also would burn just about to the end then a failure window would show up. Ive used 15 out of 50 and only 7 have burned successfully. Oddly enough the failed disc will still play in my player but when the disc gets to chapter 16 (on every disc) it stops playing. So no this media while cheap is not reliable.

Tried a couple from a friend - worked good, so I bought 50-disk spindle. Also good, just one coaster out of 0. Then couple of weeks later bought another spindle, and practically EVERY SINGLE DISK IS A COASTER. And this is with the same drive, same everything. Nero either fails at the end of disk, or the disk is burned well, but has a lot errors when watching, especially at the end of the disk.

Very unreliable. Highly unrecommended.

Very happy with this media. Bought 15 discs to see how well they work and now I'm going back to buy a spindle. 5 perfect back-ups (no coasters)of movies I own. Only bummer is 1x write speed but its one of the cheapest media I can find in town (just watch tv while burning).

Ordered a 50 pack spindle a week ago. Got the delivery promptly in three days. I burnt three movies (backups only) so far which required 4 DVD-Rs. I became a coaster. However, one of the DVDs was 4.36GB (.01GB short of max) and my Sony DRX 500UL burnt it successfully without any problem (not with Nero, but with standard RecordNow). Overall, I am very pleased with the result.

Bought 50 Optodisc DVD-Rs on a spindle.
Burned fine with my Pioneer A04.

However, my APEX DVD player would not be able to read the disc, although the same APEX player can read the Optoisc single DVD-Rs in a jewel case that I bought from newegg.com a while back ($2 a disc).

I could not find any information stating what are the difference between the two versions. I naively thought they would be the same!

The Optodisk DVD-Rs would not burn video for me. I had 4 video coasters with the Optodisk (actually none of the burns even completed..they all failed to complete the burn), put one of my Ritek DVD-R disks in using the same movie and the Ritek burns fine. I tried burning through DVD X Copy and Nero. I found the Optodisk will only burn Data for me and my Pioneer 104.

I use SpruceUp for authoring. When I burn to the OPTODISC DVD-RW with a Spruce up generated menu, the result is nearly always good and playable in a Kenwood Infinity system. Burning the same Video_TS file to the OPTODISC DVD-R at the SAME speed with the SAME Pioneer A04 burner OFTEN produces coasters and I have no idea why. All I know is that the problem is repeatable making me think that OPTODISK DVD-R media quality control problems are the culprits! Feel free to write me if you have encountered a similar problem.
