Roughly half end up as coasters, they seem to burn ok but play back with errors (freezing). Also tried slowing down to 2x but still has errors.

Discs are not very reliable. I bought 100 of these from microcenter.com and ended up with a 50/50 mix of good DVD's and skippers. Save yourself some time and just pay the extra .20 cents a disc for something of better quality. I must say that out 100 burns.. I never had a single coaster so they might be good for data but its a crap shoot on movies.

Great Discs but I guess from below it depends on what hardware and software you use to burn them.
I have a Pioneer A06 and use DVDShrink to Rip and then CloneDVD to burn...... 100% success everytime and havent had any problems watching on friends standalone players and my £40 Yamada...... slightly temperamental on one of the very old standalone Panasonic 106's but they arent supposed to play DVD-R's anyway!
For anyone starting out and wondering which software to use, DVDShrink and CloneDVD are fool proof and work every time

I bought a single disc and tried burning. Nero confirms completion on 4x speed and no errors for verification. Then I proceeded to buy 100 more. To my dismay, the 1st 5 dvd's burned got verification errors each time. I've tried 2x and 4x, tried Nero and Easy CD Creator DVD, burning with all apps and processes down to minimum, no use. Luckily I was able to return the ones I didn't use.

Disks written at 4X always work in PC drives with Power DVD, but often have annoying visual glitches on Panasonic DMR-E50 and confuse the life out of my PS2.

13 out of 13 disks burnt at 2x and 4x had multiple read errors when burning DVD's. When I first tried to burn, nero was able to burn 1 disc, then on inserting second disk, I got the illegal medium message. I upgraded firmware from 1.05 to 1.08. Disks where recognised, but all were coasters. Now using 2x FWS (CMCMAG):
