Doesn't read to burn at 8x,DVD Identidier has its burn speeds up to 6x and nothing more.

Have tried all available firmware updates from Sony and still get a 'Power Calibration' error when burning.

I couldn't get it to burn at 8x reliably it did it 8x worked for the 1st disc, and after that it started burning coasters, until i turned it down to 4x, and the movie didn't work on my toshiba SD-2200 dvd player, but worked with an Apex player which isn't my main dvd player

Had great success with these at 8x on my Optorite DD1205, with it's latest firmware 120e (firmware downloaded off Optorite's site). Works on both my standalone players (audiovox STS-93, and Colby DVD-507). It didn't work on my brother-in-law's Sony player (don't know the model number of his player).
