This media has burned just fine in all instances in our BenQ DW1640 and DW1650 writers. It has been problematic in our old NEC 1000A, but then nothing was burning 100% in the old NEC...that's why we got the BenQ's. Despite being rated at 8X the BenQ's burn this media at 12X with Nero Disk Quality scores of 94-97.

Using nero cd-dvd speed these disc consistenly rate a 30 (out of 100). Be careful they have similar packages with an ID of CMC MAG E01 +R, which are great if you need expensive coasters. The CMC ones say made in Taiwan, Whereas these say made in India.

I guess this is the media they are passing for Imation nowadays. These blank DVDs do not work on my drive (a GCA-4040N, which is awfully picky). I had used Imation before, but manufactured by RICOH, and those worked fine.
What a waste of time. I'm returning these to Target for a refund.

Media sold in a pack/box containing 5 discs in Jewel cases. Apparently claims to have "Scratch Resistant Coating" though haven't tested to see if any more resiliant to damage than normal discs. A touch expensive at around $10 au per 5. Burns very well with low PIF. Scans via BenQ Qsuite/Qscan show very low FE/TE across multitude of burn speeds. Media will happily overburn at 12x. BenQ DW1640 loves this media. Very good media and a pleasant surprise considering where they're made. Wish I could find more of this media at cheaper price in printables but seems very uncommon in Australia except in package mentioned.

MBI is good quality. TDK, RICOH, PHILIPS a.o. also use this producer (moser baer india)
I use BenQ's Qsuite-overspeed voor 12-speed burning. 16 speed gives almost double PI errors compared to 12 speed.

If you have a BenQ drive you will not find any better media than these moser baer disks, although they seem to have problems on older non-BenQ drives (after looking at other reviews here). I have burnt (literally) hundreds of these at 12x on my BenQ DW-1620 drive with no failures and excellent scans on the nero disk quality pif/pie tests. A great bargain at only $25 U.S. for a 100 pack cake box at staples.

The only available write descriptors on the disc are
one for 4x and one for 2.4x speed. This prohibits
any other speeds being used by the burning software,
so it is not really a x8 disk. Apart from that,
they look good and appear to work fine (burned just

Excellent media. Even played on my brother's VERY choosy Toshiba which shocked me. It doesn't normally like ANY type of DVD+R or -Rs even if +R book-type (bitsetting) is set to DVD-ROM (technically 0 I believe).
PS2 backups are fine too.
Either my Philips drive or my software sets book-type of DVD+R to DVD-ROM so this increases compatiblity. Haven't tried without this bitsetting and have no need to as media works without any problems. Very happy. Great media for a great price.

It's utter sham. Imation has added MBI to its inventory. Same media code as the much cheaper Office Max Spin-X brand. Discs burnt and played back o.k. (but that's the case with most NEC burners), but many of the discs had spotty surface, indicating less than uniform manufacturing and/or factory cleanliness.
This will be my last Imation purchase, since the chance of the getting quality media is diminishing.
