hi everyone, I just bought a pack of 25DVD from PC club (in OK) and burned with my Sony 500A(2.0e) The first 4 dvd I either got them pausing (played on Samsung P-701) a little bit or skipping some frames. The most disturbed thing for me is Recordnow 4.56 keep rejecting my new blank DVD! it says that I need to put a blank one in ???!!!
I tried many Discs but hopeless :(
I did check the blank DVD by DVDinfo --> showing Sony 2x (generic).
I am new in DVD but experenced in PC --> I don't think I did anything wrong, I use p4 1.5Gig / 256MB with some very basic burning softwares.
thank so much, by the way I paied $29 for 25 DVDs at PC Club --> pretty expensive :)

bought them @ allmediaoutlet.com under Lead Data and 20 were LD while the rest were Sony. Both can burn @2X w/ DRU-500AX 2.0c but not recommend it. I've burn about 10 movies already and 1 of 10 skipped @ the end of the disc cuz of 2X, others were 1X and it works fine. Even the PS2 v7 read the movies too. Would buy again but, allmediaoutler services is horrible. Sent the wrong order, contacted them but hung up on me 3 times, and try contact w/email and did not reply until 2-3 days later. I got the order about a month later.

Here's the Lead Data info:

Ok, I have done some extensive research on these Generic DVD-Rs from PC Club and have found a way to 100% positively identify whether or not it is a 1X Lead Date disc or a 2X Sony(Possibly Lead Data 2X disc found as Sony by the burner). It is a Sony 2X disc if the code on the inner ring(not the plastic hub ring with black writing)is K1-3083 10MAK. If the inner ring code starts with an A1 it is a 1X Lead Data disc. The black code written in the hub ring doesn't identify the two discs properly because I have seen Sony's and Lead Data's share the same A2VK... codes. The neat thing about this way of identifying them is the fact that you can see through the 50 pack plastic case and clearly see if you look carefully their inner ring codes(Remember inner ring is the unwritable ring on the outside of the hub ring on the top of the disc). My first 50 pack has about 40 Sony 2X discs and 10 Lead Data 1X discs in it. I have burned around 10 Sony 2X discs and 5 Lead Data 1X discs flawlessly on my Cendyne 4X(Pioneer DVR-105) and had only one coaster which might have been a buffer underun problem since I was doing extensive work during burning.(BTW the coaster was a Sony 2X disc) The physical difference I could tell between the Sony 2X and the Lead Data 1X discs is the Sony's purple die goes a mm closer to the outer edge of the disc then the Lead Data 1X disc. Other then that they look and feel exactly the same. I went down Saturday to get a second pack hoping to luck out, but they didn't have any Sony's with the K1-3083 inner ring code, so I settled for the A1 Lead Data 1X discs since they were only wanting $39.99 for a 50 pack. All 50 discs in my second 50 pack are Lead Data 1X and about 10 of them or so have very small bubble on the top of them. These bubbles are nothing be worried about since they aren't affecting the dye. All in all I haave found both the Lead Data 1X and Sony 2X DVD-R discs from PC Club to be of excellent quality and they should be very durable as time goes on and for only 80 cents a disc you can't go wrong!

Nero indentifies this as Sony 2X media. Supposedly it is made by Lead.. something or other. Appears really solid plastic. No coasters after six or so disks. Plays in all DVD players I tried.

Same as above. Bought a 50 pack and they were ritekg3. Went back hoping for more and got these. Had to haggle with guy in store to get them for $42+tax because they raised price. Also have gotten That's Write ones from PCCLUB... so far everything I buy at pcclub burns perfect 2x in a04 with hacked firmware.
