My MicroSolutions DVD+-RW drive (burns both + and - formats, model number 224010) recognized these blank disks in the drive. But whenever I tried to use SpeedyCD to write files to them, I immediately got the error message "Error creating disc - Drive reported complex error, refer to error log for details". I check the error log and it says "CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM - INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT". Even tried writing files using Nero Burning ROM and it immediately says "Burn process failed". I've tried all different speeds and formats in both programs but burning is never successful. Apparently the AML Prodisk media code that they use to manufacture this media isn't compatible with the MicroSolutions 224010. And just my luck, MicroSolutions is out of business now, so I won't be getting any more support from them! Fortunately, the CompUSA retail store that I bought them from allowed me to return them for a full refund.

I bought TWO spindles of 100 DVD-Rs each (total of 200 DVD-Rs) and found an average of 15-25 DVD-s that are visually bad PER SPINDLE. That means that on visual inspection there are large line scratches, marred areas (scratches), blotches of tint/dye, layers improperly bonded. The next factor is that MOST DVD-Rs in these spindles contain dust particles or particulates that are not that easily blown away.

All the DVD-Rs that I have burned out of these spindles about 15 of them that were visually inspected and seem to be O.K. have performed well both on 3 set-top DVD players, on DVD recorder (DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW), and on PCs.

I would not recommed this brand at all because of the serious quality control. In fact I have never seen a worst quality control on DVD products. Although those DVDs that seem visually fine have performed well there is a problem on the very large percentage of bad media per spindle considering that they want about U$ 69.00/spindle. Luckily I bought a spindle of 100 DVD-R for $20/ea at a 16hr promotional sale by my local CompUSA store. I would not buy these media again at any price in the future. The risk of unreliable media is too high.

Used a Lite-ON DVD recorder and made clones on a PC using Nero DVDcopy. Of those DVDs that seemed visually acceptable ,all worked fine on multiple players.

Not bad if you only intend to cut DVDs that are 3GB or less. Not reliable when writing larger DVDs. I set Nero to verify media and it failed 48 of 100 times. When I check the 48 that failed verify, they ALWAYS get stuck during playback. Have tried 4x/2x/1x burns and always the same results. The price is cheap, especially during the 4-hour sales but they are not worth the hassles. Tried the first 100 on the Sony and the second on an I/O Magic IDVD16DL using Roxio 7.5. I simulated the verify by trying to copy the file from the DVD to the hard drive. No difference.

I picked these up for 15 @ 3.98 per pack about 2 weeks ago. I've heard bad things about these disc's but decided for the price why not.

So far I've burned 10 disc's without a problem. They have been great!

I was the first Post on these Disks. I wanted to add a bit more now that I have played with these for a while. I had horrible experence with these at 4X Very Bad Land and pits with errors but not enough so taht it would not play. They play what can I say. My Plextor drive will not allow me to burn at anything lower than 4X but I Have a generic drie I use for ripping and it will allow me to burn them at 2X they are always Good to real Good in the Land and pits and errors are low not as low as Maxell or Verbatum but the land and pits are carparable. Errors reacha mox of oh 35 40. Not bad for cheap disks . Only sad part is the slow burn. I read that they may not stand up anyone have any information on that heard that after a few months you cannot read the disks.?

Got this at a 4 hour sale at CompUSA 100 for $15.00 after rebate.$19.00 before. They will only burn at 4 no choice for faster or slower and at best are poor. They seem to get better with the more I burn I suppose that is because my drive learns how to burn them better. Plextor has the program the seems to improve with each write. They do work in Sanyo DVD player as well as my phillips 642. Always at least one bad Land and pits usuall but not always outer. But they play so...
