Bought a 100 spool and all burned perfect and played perfect right after the burns. Several months went but and tried one of the original burns and got the old "no Disk Found" error. Tried it all other DVD players and got the same result. In checking all 100 burns, all that had worked fine iniitially were now all bad. Media was stored in Jewell boxes in media rack (proper stroage). No labels applied (just permanent marker used). Have burned over 600 of the Verbatim Datalife 8X at 8X and all working perfectly. BeAll media will not be purchased by me again!

I burned 30 discs into my 50 pack from Meritline. I decided to actually watch one of my burned movies and realized that every disc will pixelate and skip towards the last 15 minutes or so of the video. It does this on evey DVD player I've tried. I never had this problem with the older Beall media which I used exclusively. These newer ones that I just purchased in January 2004 look different. The center ring of the disc used to be clear but now the reflective surface extends all the way to the center. They burn fine but are useless if you can't even watch them. 100% failure rate with the new version!!

Burned @ 1x, 2x; using Nero; using B's Recorder Gold 5; using TMPGenc DVD Author; using DVD-Lab v 1.2: Did not play on any set-top players: Apex AD1100W (1MB); Pioneer DV-343 (which plays ANYTHING); Panasonic DMR-E20; OR JVC XV-523GD, Did not play on Notebook or Desktop computers. I did notice the dye at the center of the disc was approx. 2 mm wider than other brands that I've burned. The few and proud who actually got this media to play stated "If this media doesn't play for you, then you're burning it wrong". I blew 14 discs then sought a replacement: Riteks, Optodiscs, Maxells - you name it, I've burned it and it plays. This is the only media I've used that was consistently bad. I expect to find an occasional bad disc, but not ALL of them.

I have gone throgh several different media and I have been very impressed with the BeAll's. Most notably, they have an incredible quick seek time. Going from chapter to chapter seems quicker and more precise compared to some of the other media I have used. It seems to have good compatibility also and plays on the PS2. As of today, Meritline.com is selling BeAll's under the Meritline brand name (general DVD-R 1x) so I got 100 for $101.

If burned on 1x works about 1 out of 3, if burned at 2x does not work at all on JVC 600BK, Panasonic RP 82, Marants 5000 players. At about an hour into a movie the screen becomes pixelated, movie jitters and after a minute or so completely halts. Don't waste your time with this media. It's hard to spot the problem unltil you watch a whole movie, as it seems to be fine if you just scan through a dvd after recording.

Bought the 50-pack spindle. My Pioneer DVR-A03 burner would not recognise ANY of the discs, so could not even burn a single one. Burner had firmware version 1.90 - upgraded to 2.0 - STILL didn't work. BEWARE...

I could not get Nero to burn these at 2x on a Pioneer DVR-105, even though meritline.com and cdrdvdrmedia.com claim they will burn 2x on "Pioneer" burners. They may be referring to the A03/103/A04/104. Also, my "home-brew" DVD project would not play in my Samsung DVD-S222 standalone player. It complained about the region setting of the disc. I then set the burner to region 1 (which is what my player is). It still wouldn't play it, although PowerDVD XP 4.0 would play it fine. See my review of the Samsung DVD-S222 on this site. It sucks.

Authored my DVD's VIDEO_TS directory with DVDit PE 2.5. I then burned with Nero 5.5.10.0 in "High Compatibility" mode (writes at least 1 GB to the DVD-R). And yes, I know how to make a DVD, I've done at least 30 the same way that have worked (although they were burnt on a Pioneer DVR-104, not a 105).
Does not work on Samsung DVD-S222

I was a bit skeptical about every media out there but I fussed up and gave the BeALL 's a try. So far I've authored 8 disc and all of them
play beautifully on my Sampo deck, hell EVERYTHING plays beautifully on that player. I havent made a coaster yet!

Disc's are silver topped and a purple bottoms. Not a dark purple like Pioneer's, but purple never the less.

Burned using DVD-Decrypter at 1x, havent tested if it will go any higher (but it probabbly will do 2x). On a Pioneer A04 with newest firmware.
(1.33 i think).

Perfect Media, no problems at all.

This media works great on every player I used it on and solved all of my compatibility issues. It even works on my Toshiba SD-4109 which I have never gotten to play any type of recordable DVD media before I purchased these. I hope they come out with a 4X type soon as I will probably start buying those too.

Works on the Toshiba SD-400V when the Ritek media would not be recognized at all.

Seems to be higher quality. Record surface much more reflective than the Ritek made Meritline brand discs I had been using.

works better than anything else that I have tried thus far (even pioneer, memorex, etc.). The access times for the disks are surprisingly fast (no long searching at all). I have an A03 (1.90) running through USB 2.0. Make an image first, then burn with PrimoDVD @ 1X. I actually ordered the "RitekG 03"(ADVDInfo) and the goobs at meritline sent me these "BEALL G00" by mistake, but they work beautifully. As always order a few and try them out first. It even plays on my old XV-511BK perfectly and nothing plays on it.

Believe it or not, I think the $0.68 DVD-Pro media looks higher quality (going on 600 burns, 2 coasters), however with the DVD-Pro's 4 gigs is max, with these "Be-All"'s I've burnt 4 projects at 4.25+ gigs without any skips, or stutters at the end unlike Princo's DVD Pro.

These are silver topped, with a light purple under side. They are "see through", meaning held up to light the disc appears transparent.
