1)Turn the player on with no disc in the tray. No disc is diplayed. 2)Open the tray and then close, while loading quickly press setup on remote. 3)Select general by using the arrow keys and then press enter. 4)Select Basic from the menu and press enter. 5)Press display and current region will be displayed. 6)Change to the region you want by pressing condition memory on the remote and number of the region between 1-6. 7)Press display, this will display the region changed. 8)Press setup and this will save and exit from the menu. | |||

OK this is very easy... I came across this when my dvd player played region 1 dvds in black and white and asked Pioneer how to fix it... they gave me this and it works like a charm: Hold the fast forward button on the dvd player and turn on the dvd player whilst holding the FF button do this as many times until it says PAL on your DVD player hopefully this will work for you guys as well as it did for me | |||

esto es muy fácil.. Encontré esto cuando mi reproductor de dvd jugó la región 1 dvdes en el Pioneer blanquinegro y preguntó para cómo fijarlo... ellos me dieron este y trabajan como un encanto: Tenga el adelantar rápido el botón en el reproductor de dvd y prenda el reproductor de dvd mientras tenga el botón de adelantar rápido haga este como muchos veces hasta que diga a PAL en su REPRODUCTOR de dvd optimistamente esto trabajará para usted tipos así como hizo para mí | |||

Hi I've found you can also add region 0 to make your player change regions automatically - works a treat! Don't know how it goes with these new DVDs that check your zone first... I guess if they don't work you can try to put a DVD of the same zone in and play it for a short while, or go through the manual method. I think we'd all like to know whether the first method works (being the lazy bastards we are!) Tony | |||

I have a DV-344 Region 4 player. None of the hacks above allow me to change the region. When I follow Becky_Babe's steps, my player shows the following information: Region: 3/Ver:7.004(4)/AVI:7.00 I don't understand why it is showing "Region:3" Would appreciate any ideas, advice. Thanks | |||

I've tried all these hacks and can't get them to work on my region 4 DV-344... the annoying thing is we own two and both are meant to be factory hacked.. but have only started recently using the second one (after owning it for a year) and keep having it spit out different region dvds.. The fast forward method did work to stop it playing one dvd I own in black and white. I just can't get it to the 'display' option to change regions. | |||
