Some firmware is locked to either PAL or NTSC. You should be able to visit Philip's website and download appropriate firmware. The one I downloaded was filename dvdr3600_97_fus_eng.zip along with the instructions in PDF format. Before updating the firmware, the DVD recorder was locked to PAL and I was not able to use the composite or S-video output. It did work using an HDMI connection - that is how I was able to update the firmware. Once updated, the region code hack still works, and switching video systems is trivial. | |||
