Tested on Region A/1 BluRay/DVD player purchased from Walmart Canada (Dec.2013). The player was updated to firmware v2.15. The code will only change the DVD region and not the BluRay region. It was entered with the remote that came with player. To set the DVD region: Power on with no disc in tray Press HOME on the remote Enter 1389310 The last digit 0 is the region number you want to set it to. There will be no screen notification that the keys were entered correctly. To check the region: Power on with no disc inside Press HOME on the remote Enter 8520 The BluRay & DVD region will be shown along with a lot of other device info. | |||

Works fine. Great picture on my Sony's HDMI. So far have played region 2 & 4, as well as Region 1. Now have 3 decoded players by this site. Why would anyone want to update firmware? | |||

The hack might possibly work, but the remote that came with my dvd player (purchased in the US), didn't have numbers on it to enter the hack. | |||
