This isn't a hack, but if you're in a major metropolitan area it is a way to make the DVD player
multi-region.

If you take this to a Panasonic service centre, they will make it multi-region for you at no charge.

Go to https://www.panasonic.com/global/global-network.html and choose your country.

Find the support phone number, call them up, they'll give you details of your closest authorised
service centre.

Just take it in and Bob's your uncle. You won't be charged - the service centre will bill it back to
Panasonic.

Note that this is for DVDs only, not for Blu-Rays. Your player will now be able to play DVDs from
all regions, but Blu-Ray region locking will still apply.

Information current as of August 2020 - I'm in Australia, but I confirmed that it's a global
Panasonic policy.

Unfortunately I contacted both Panasonic Netherlands and their (external) service center and they both did not offer any region free options (I even added the link to this videohelp post).

Dear Lupiac. I have seen the same info you gave on another forum from Panasonic Australia itself (but I saw yours first). I rang the
Panasonic Service Centre in Australia on web site phone number about making my new Panasonic DP-UB420 Ultra HD Blu-ray player,
that I bought in the post-Christmas sales 2020 from Harvey Norman, region free. Although I haven't had it done yet (as the service
centre is still closed for Christmas), the Panasonic agent I spoke to confirmed that I could take that model number machine in, with my
receipt, and it would be done for free. She asked for my Post Code and then gave me the name and number of the closest authorised
Panasonic service centre. Although, as mentioned, I haven't had it done yet, I have every confidence that it will be done properly, safely
and at no charge (not sure whether it will only be DVDs or Blu-rays too, but I only have Australian bought Blu-rays, so I'm ok with that).
I'll post again if I hit a snag. Cheers for the great advice!
