I OWN A KOSS KS3123-2. I HAVE TRIED THE HACK THAT WAS SUGGESTED FOR THE KS3122 AND IT WORKS. TO CHANGE FROM PAL TO NTSC WHILE THE SCREEN IS SCROLLING IS DIFFICULT BUT IT CAN BE DONE : FROM MENU PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY ON REMOTE 3 TIMES ; PRESS THE RIGHT ARROW KEY ONCE AND THE DOWN ARROW KEY ONCE ;THEN PRESS OK . | |||

Just a note for the previous hack for the 3123-2. I think you only have about 6 chances to change it. So make sure you follow the instructions carefully, so you're not stuck in PAL, because then you're screwed. So press the combo to go into the hidden config menu. Press ok on Configuration and change to 0. You're screen will more than likely start flickering. It's essential you exit back to the main menu and change to NTSC by following the previous instructions. Don't try to change the NTSC settings from the hidden configuration menu. | |||

Just bought a KOSS KS3123-2 DVD player. I have to say thanks to those guys who posted previous 2 messages for hack that KOSS DVD player to free region. Just have tested a Region 2 PAL DVD, a Region 2 NTSC DVD and a Region 3 NTSC DVD. They all working fine after hack. -wait for the menu, should be no disc in player -press 16719 in the remote, config menu will show -press ok on Configuration and change to 0. -the TV screen might likely start flickering and black and white, exit the config menu -back to the main menu and change Display PAL/NTSC to back to NTSC if you are in N.America or Japan. This player supports almost all formats (DVD/SVCD/VCD/MP3/WMA/CD-audio) with the best value on the price and after hack to free region. This Koss DVD player is unbeatable. | |||

This is more or less just a "Me Too", but here are the complete set of keystrokes you need to press in order to dezone your Koss 3122/3123 DVD player and have it play Zone 2 DVDs without the NTSC/PAL problem. -Turn on your DVD player and wait for the menu. -press 16719 on your remote, the Hidden Configuration menu will be displayed. -press OK on your remote for the first option entitled "Configuration", the "1" will be replaced by an underscore "_". -Select 0 (zero) on your remote for allregion ***Note that "Configuration" is the first option. Do not change your NTSC setting on the hidden menu*** At this point, you will not be able to see much on your TV if you live in North America or Japan as the DVD player will switch to PAL output. Follow the rest of the instructions without looking at the screen. - Press exit on your remote. - Press menu - Press Down Arrow key on your remote 3 times - Press the Right Arrow key once. - Press the Down Arrow key once. - Press OK. Your TV should now pop back into a nice clear picture of the DVD player menu. It will play DVDs from any zone and will automatically output correctly to a NTSC television. If it does not, it is not a problem, you have only messed up the second part of these instructions. Turn off your DVD player, and then turn it back on. You will be at the basic menu again. Start again from the line "Press Down arrow on your remote 3 times" and continue from there. | |||

After having changing the configuration of your DVD player as explained in the other topics, you will have a problem of display : the DVD player will send a PAL signal to your TV set, wich is NTSC, so you have to turn your DVD player into NTSC. The problem is you don't see anything on your TV screen... If everything ok, after hacking your region code, your should be on the start menu, so go down three times, right once donw once and then push OK and the HAVE FUN..... | |||

hey there, just picked up a koss ks3122-2, and the hack is the same for region code settings..however, the bonus is that the output setting doesn't change to pal, so there is no need to worry about it (it stays NSTC :-) is there a macrovision code for this player? thanks! Dr.B | |||
