My jWIN JD-VD138 came region free out of the box. (I bought it from Amazon.com.) I have a region 4 copy of "Eyes Wide Shut." I tried playing it without doing the hacks already listed here just to see, and it played. (My unhacked Sony player refuses to play the disk, so I am quite sure it is region encoded 4, or at least something other than 1.) The Jwin also plays my region 1 disks fine. I have not hacked it in any way. (I suppose this is technically not a hack, but it seemed that non-hack hacks should be okay.) | |||
