This is a bit of discovery I've worked on with my SA75GD (also applies to the SA72SL and SA70BK). It doesn't actually change the functionality yet, but is useful information for those of us trying to figure out how to hack one of these units without modifying the box. Powering on (from the STANDBY key while holding |<< and >>| displays this: REGION 1 Plugging the unit in while holding PLAY and STOP does this: Displays for about 3 seconds: TEST 06 J Then displays: TEST JC J Pushing the CHOICE key on the remote pages through the following menus: - - - - - - - - - - - - 00 00 31 FD CHECK * ALL LCDs LIT * 0000 0000 When on the "00 00 31 FD" page, pushing the PAGE key on the remote does this: Displays: 06282001;0 and turns on the ANGLE light which stays on until you push the CHOICE key twice (to * ALL LCDs LIT *) Could someone with a unit from someplace other than North America post (and email me@jory.org) what they see when following the same procedure?
