qaac is a command line AAC/ALAC encoder frontend based on Apple encoder. Since 1.00, qaac directly uses CoreAudioToolbox.dll. Therefore, QuickTime installation is no more required. However, Apple Application Support is required. AAC-LC, AAC-HE, ALAC encoding are supported.

[qaac] release 2.18 View full changelog posted 4 hours ago by nu 774 Added --sort-args option by request, which sorts filenames given by command line before processing them. Sorting is done simply by Unicode character code, in ascending order. Fixed to test seekability before estimating input length of raw input. Seems like _filelengti64() doesn't return error on a named pipe.

Yes u r right, i also almost hate softwares which depends on Net Framework or java or windows service pack to get installed and run,because they are all useless garbage of files that bloat most of the space of your hard disks.

Even though I hate bloatware, installing the Apple Application Support stuff is not much worse than having Java or .Net Framework 2.0 on your HDD. This CLI front-end does work, and this post means a big Thank-You to the author.
