mp3DirectCut is a small tool for editing AAC and MP3 mpeg audio directly. You can remove parts, change the volume, split files or copy regions to new files. All without the need to decompress your MP3 into PCM/WAV. This saves work, encoding time and disk space. And there is no quality loss through any re-compressions. It wasn't super-intuitive to get what I wanted, but I figured out a system that worked great for me. I went into GoldWave and made cue points where I wanted the file split (this was a live concert mp3 audio). Then I saved the cue file. Then I loaded the cue file that Goldwave made into Mp3DirectCut and the split points were there. I only had to execute the split command and I had 23 numbered and titled mp3s which were not re-encoded. Exactly what I wanted! Thanks to the author.

Not quite flawless, for me vers 2.05 goes into an endless resync loop when saving a large MP3 file after simple trimming.
