eac3to is able to convert E-AC3, TrueHD, PCM and DTS-HD audio tracks to AC3, DTS or FLAC. Converts E-AC3, TrueHD, PCM, DTS-HD and FLAC tracks to AC3/DTS/FLAC. Removes Dialog Normalization from AC3, E-AC3, DTS and TrueHD tracks. Extracts AC3 frames from Blu-Ray AC3/TrueHD tracks. Extracts DTS core from DTS-HD tracks. Can remux the video track of a EVO/VOB source to Matroska(mkv). Command line tool but GUI also available. Requires external audio decoders. Full description.

For best AC3, E-AC3 and AAC decoding you need:
(1) Nero 7 (Nero 8 won't work!)
(2) Nero HD DVD / Blu-Ray plugin

For best DTS decoding you need:
(1) ArcSoft DTS Decoder - version 1.1.0.0 or newer

For DTS encoding you need:
(1) SurCode DVD DTS - version 1.0.21 or newer

For AAC encoding you need:
(1) Nero AAC Encoder

excellent tool. highly recommended. I am currently using this for normalizing 24bit 96k wav files, but I can see myself using this flexible and reliable tool in many different ways.

everything works perfect ... the only remark I have is will be better to show percents for progress instead of 79 dashes

Awesome little utility... With the right decoder/encoders installed your set... Easier to use the command line instead of the add-on GUI. Can't believe noone has rated or commented on this tool yet.
