Ok, the plain and simple skinny: Do you want to convert: * videos for iPod without having to figure out what codecs you need to do so? * Just ripped a DVD into the computer and want to put it on your iPod? * create Flash (.flv) files? * create iPod and iTunes friendly Podcast video files (mp4)? * Convert .avi files into something that can play on your Mac? * encode a complete 13 episode season of TV shows onto one single disc? Then you need to get this app! I have done all the above and more and this app has never failed in getting my video files in different formats transcoded into what I needed to do. It is fully customizable for those who like to control their aspect ratios, encoding bitrates, output size, etc. This tool has been getting so much use in my toolbox, that if it were a hammer or saw or screwdriver, it would be dull and duct taped from so much use! lol! if you own a Mac, get this tool period. If your a switcher to the mac from the PC world, get this tool. Outside of the two button mouse, this by far is the best investment for a mac owner hands down!

This is the only app that I found for my Mac that could convert .avi files to DVD without lowering the quality. And trust me, I tried many over the course of several days.

This is one of the best apps for video conversion on any platform (and I've used plenty of them on Windows machines. Incredibly fast on a core 2 duo macbook...hasn't let me down yet. The built in 'templates' make conversions easy, but there's plenty of power under the hood if you want more control. Well worth registering if you own a mac.
