Visual AVCHD Time Stamp (vATS) is a tool to add date and/or time stamp to the captured AVCHD video files- When videos recorded on an AVCHD camcorder are captured into AVCHD files on a PC, the time codes (date/time when the tape was recorded) are transferred along with the video/audio data to the files. But the time codes are not visible when you view the AVCHD files. By using vATS, the time codes are extracted from the AVCHD files and superimposed onto the videos. vATS 2.0 can now output AVCHD compatible format files. vATS works for AVCHD format files only.

This is excellent program, but it would be even better is there would be an option to choose. A bunch of separated timestamped files of one joined timestamped file. Do you think you can add this option? If yes, I will buy this program. Otherwise I still have to use other program that does exactly the same, but give me an option to make final single joint file.

Review by Tim on Mar 6, 2019 Version: Visual AVCHD Time Stamp 3.5.0 OS: Windows 10 64-bit Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 7/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 7/10

Just purchased the full version with email support after testing the trial version for couple of weeks, this program works beautifully on all my Sony AVCHD m2ts video files, it easily stamps date & time on all original m2ts files w/o losing any video quality.
For the output video file it offers two choices: WMV or MTS, I'm using the MTS file format and no complaints whatsoever.
You can chose the 12-hr or 24-hr clock and easily position the stamp anywhere on the video.
The Help Guide also easy to work with.
As soon as you have chosen your own favorite settings, you save them of course and therefore you won't have to do it again anytime you go back to the program for another project.
I strongly recommend this program to anyone interested in getting date & time stamped on the video.
I expect in getting any new updated versions via email.
GREAT PRODUCT.

Come on man. This is a real good perfect program but why, but why do you have to change the file format? Im trying to modify an existing AVCHD file and it change it into a wmv file. Why not save it as the original file which was m2ts extension? Now im force to look for another program cause what im working with dont recongnize wmv files.

I have waited a long time for a program like this, and so far this looks good.
It crashes, though, every time I fiddle around with Custom timestamps.

But I have a few questions:
- Where exactly in the metadata does the program retrieve the time/datestamp?
- Is the operation "lossless", so the quality of the file is not decreased?
- Can the program rename the file itself using the same timestamp data? If not, consider this a request :)

Thanks.
