English OCR works well. Managed to OCR entire SUB file with only minor corrections in words needed. Less then a minute needed to adjust subtitles that were off by a few seconds. Creating subtitles is tedious, but simple enough to do. Appending subtitles (joining) was slightly complicated, however worked. You can use this to save subs as different formats. The interface was confusing for the first few runs, and I suggest becoming comfortable with what everything does. Overall, this deserves a '9'.

Major improvement on UI since 2.x. Now you can actually adjust sync with video, same as with every other tool. Previously you'd have to close the video preview window to adjust timings. Only sub editor I know of that can handle unicode. Now with less suck. Still some bad/awkward ui design like the video goes below subs, not next to them (most displays are widescreen) but starting to be usable.

Pros - Unicode support - Can rip from sub files - Nice spell-checker Cons - Can't join/split subtitles - Lacks of basic timing options available in Subtitle Workshop like expander/reducer and duration limit - No framerate convertion? - No undo buton/list in toolbar, neither crl+z hotkey Nice program but it's weak where SW is strong and viceversa :(

To the earlier poster,if you look on the front of the menu you will see adjust all times with show earlier and show later, that's your shift.I use the program all the time with the newest version to stretch and fix errors and works great.

Downloaded this to do one thing and one thing only: to shift selected dialogs a few seconds forward. It can be done easily with most subtitle softwares. Subtitle Workshop can, with ease. So does Aegisub. Subtitle Edit, although look simple and much more polished than the two, frankly just baffles me. There is no SHIFT function.

This is something new and unusual. An open source subtitle tool, that has already got a couple of novelties implemented. Worth to check out if you work with subtitles a lot. I've reported a couple of minor bugs, but it seems that this tool is a promising one. I hope that more programmers will co-operate with the author. Thank you, Mr. Olsson.
