Best DVDR burning software period. I have burned over 500 disc's on two different operating systems with this fine software without a single failure. Works great on my Sony DRU-500ax, Pioneer 105, and NEC 1100A burners. Fantastic compatibility with all my burns working on any stand alone player. BTW I paid a mere $39 for RecordNow Max at CompUSA.

There seems to be some confusion over Record Now Max by Stomp, and Record Now Deluxe by Sonic. The second to last comment mentioning that there is an updated pxengine for RecordNow Max is incorrect. This comment is referring to the other software "R. N. Deluxe" and not the "R. N. Max" we are currently discussing. I'd read here that RecordNow Max has sometimes out performed Nero 6 for compatible (in stand alone players) burned DVD discs. So I decided to give it a try. I found out after spending 79.99 that RecordNow Max does not support my LG 4040B DVD writer. I have it installed correctly, and I have updated the firmware to the latest as mentioned on Stomp's web site. The Stomp site has a list of supported writers, but it has not been updated in many months. It had DVD writers that are supported, but not very many. Looks like this software is very limited in DVD burning, and mainly a CDR burning/editing program. Back to Nero for me. Here is the list of supported drives, look at how skimpy it is for DVD burners! http://www.stompinc.com/cgi-bin/test/compat.pl I sent an email to Stomp Support and it was answered in a timely manor, but unfortunately, was of no help. See email inquiry to Stomp below for kind but vague reply. -----Original Message----- From: hiptone@aol.com [mailto:hiptone@aol.com] Sent: Sunday, November 16, 2003 10:58 PM To: support@stompinc.com Subject: RecordNow Max Support Inquiry The following information has been submitted by hiptone@aol.com {|ProblemDescription|} = My DVD REcorder is not seen by RecordNow Max. Appears it may not be supported. Please tell me I have not just spent $79.99 on worthless software? Its possible Your recorder is supported under the latest version. Please download the latest update. http://support.sonic.com/downloads/engine.asp We do not have prior knowledge to which drives will be supported with the next version. RecordNow Max does have a "Silent Select" feature which can enable the application to function with many drives which are not specifically supported. Thank you, Technical Support Representative Stomp, Inc.

this MAY be a good dvd recording tool, however, they haven't updated the px engine (the part that recognizes the dvd-r/w drive) since november 2002. needless to say my lg gsa-4040b drive isn't recognized. :(

Some folks think this is the best thing since sliced bread. My experience with RecordNow Max was "moldy bread". It is not as easy to use as another burn program I can think of and I ended up with a bad disk on two tries. Thanks but no thanks.

You've heard the saying "You've tried the rest, now try the best", well without a doubt this is the best. I only used for burning DVD's but it works 100% everytime and i've never had a DVD player refuse to play any of the burnt disc's, unlike another software i won't mention but it begins with the Letter N. It has everything you need for CD/DVD burning but i don't know if it supports overburing but as this only applys to CD's and as i only Burn to DVDr's now i'm not really worried about this. So i'm giving it 10 across the board.

What can I say... this program has performed without flaw for me for anything I've tried. I use it exclusivly for all CD-R/RW burning. Tried all the others.. literally. Converts MP3's to CD Audio on the fly, copy's as well as most, supports all all burnproof hardware. Worth the money.
