Most of AVI files nowdays come in non-standard (4:3) format, like 16:9 or even wider. This application allows you to chose input format but output is set to a predifined one. For example for Palm it's 320x240, and when it comes to play it aspect ration is wrong. Actually all output audio/video settings are hidden.

I have used this tool to copy DVDs from my collection to play on my Samsung SCH-i730 PDA/Smartphone running Windows Mobile 5. The tool copies only the main movie, no extras. The output can be set to fit on a 1 GB, 512, 256 or 128 MB memory card. I have a 1 GB card, but I have only used the 128 MB setting. Given the resolution of my screen (320 X240), that's good enough, and I can put several movies on one card. The only issue seems to be whether my battery will last long enough for one movie. I haven't actually tried it without plugging my PDA into AC power, such as while being a passenger on an airplane. A "battery extender" is available, which uses 4 AA batteries, and can theoretically be used for those situations, but like I said, I haven't tried watching a whole movie on battery power yet.

Sounds great but seldome works. Wont copy most copy protected DVD's. Maybe it can copy 5% of your DVD collection. Absolutely not worth a purchase, unless you have some of those $1 DVD's from walmart you want to copy. Otherwise a no go.

Don't know what the person was talking about when he said this program was garbage! This program does just what it says it does. I have converted movies for my Palm T|X and my sons PSP and they have turned out perfectly. This converts for all different devices like Palm, PSP, IPOD, etc. The other programs I tried you had to buy a different program for different devices. I converted Star Wars Episode III for my sons PSP and it plays beautifully. This is a really long movie and the quality is outstanding. When you consider the price of one movie for the PSP ($15 - $20) vs the $28 for this program, it is definitely a bargain. It also requires no decrypting program. Outstanding program.
