Too bad this much admired tool did not work for me. It failed to get the flash stream just like the rest of the pack except the replay media catcher demo version i tried( not replay a/v). Worse still, it stole my home page and changed it point to its own web site. Now that is rude!

Orbit worked for me to get the flash behind RMTP where practically every other application like Repaly AV, vdownloader, riptiger failed. Impressive.

Orbit works for me on about 2/3 of the files I go after. (There can be some variations or improvements, from version to version, so best to follow the changelog and remain fairly current.) And that may be about the best one can reasonably expect. While I haven't gotten around to trying many of the others yet (SDP, Vdownloader, Net Transport, etc.), my strong impression is that *no single one* of these things is going to solve all your problems . . . which is probably why several of them should be available in one's toolkit. Example: the other day I wanted to grab an embedded flv clip that streamed out via HTTP. Orbit can't detect it, even URLsnooper could not uncover where it really lives. Obviously, the site does not want us to be able to download it. I think it's very possible that Replay or one of the others could get it, though. Get _that_ one, and fail to get a number of other kinds. But I doubt that any of these is going to be a "universal grabber" that just will not be denied.

Works a little too good at times. But it still can not get files grom Hulu.com, except the commercials

I tried SDP multimedia and Vdownloader but couldn't get it to work from the website I was trying to download but Orbit was a breeze. I love the application

OK, since this tool has gone through a few revisions since I last tried it and found it frustrating to use and unreliable, especially in Opera, I figured I would now give it another shot. I am extremely happy with Orbit now. I don't know if the program improved greatly or I had a moment of clarity and figured it out, but I have to say it works GREAT with Opera now. Ease of use and reliability or excellent! I will recommend it to others.

Finally a web video grabber that actually works. Even with a 6 Mbit DSL connection a lot of video gets "buffered" and the stuttering gets annoying. I also prefer watching things on my TV and with this I can download, convert and burn to DVD (using other software available here) very easily. Great job. Only complaint is I would like to have more options as to what I use it for when it comes to using it as an overall download manager.

Have been trying to use this program for about 2 days now with little success and lots of frustration. Am trying to download some flv files. Have tried it with You Tube, Daily Motion, Live and some others. Can't get it to d/l anything in my browser of choice; Opera and have had limited sucess with IE7. WOrst of all is it hijacks that files like mpegs and wmvs that Opera loads natively and starts to download them without giving me a choice. I have better success with Keepvid. Shame, this software sounds promising but doesn't deliver and furthermore is very annoying.

I'm a 57 year old guy, who operates computers since they were powered by coal and vapour, and have tested most of the download managers at our disposal. After DAP, IDM, Flashget, FDM, and tons of others alike, I say that Orbit is THE software. And surprisingly FREE. No nags, no adware, no spyware, no toolbars. Today I am proud of giving Orbit an oportunity to show its qualities. I live in Brazil, I don't have relatives working or depending on Orbit success.
